Welcome to Mithian

News

Our AGM was held on 27 February.  We began the meeting with a few words about Alan who contributed so much to the village and who sadly passed away this week.  Jane then reviewed the past year and Geoff presented the accounts.  The following were elected to serve as trustees for 2026:

Jane Cashmore (Chair)

Jonny Edwards (Treasurer)

Andy Netherwood (Secretary)

Vanessa Corbey

Emma Windsor

Anouska Andreou

Anthony Phillips

John Gray

We then discussed a program of events for 2026 and some exciting ideas for the Hall – more details to follow!

The signpost has now been restored to its former glory. A huge thanks to Tom, Geoff and everyone else who helped make this happen.  Not only does it smarten up the village, it also serves as a fitting legacy to Roy, whose bequest provided the initial funding.  We will now be sourcing some planters to protect it.

We have now secured enough funds to complete the signpost restoration and it’s getting a new lick of paint ready for the new arm which is currently being forged.

Spruced up signpost

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved with this year’s fete. As well as having a fantastic time, we raised a record-breaking £2,150 which will be used for the benefit of the village.
